She is expert in food, wine / beverage alcohol, drug law, and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliance. Ms. Sagona assists clients in understanding and complying with the complex body of regulations imposed by FDA (such as the Food Facility Registration requirement of the Bioterrorism Act ), and the United States Department of Agriculture ( USDA ).
Ms. Sagona also advises visual artists and performers in connection with their performance and business ventures in arts, entertainment, and gallery law to establish, protect, and enforce intellectual property rights including trademarks, web-based domains, music, and other creative copyrighted works.
Ms. Sagona works in the English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese languages. Her international client list includes enterprises and individuals from Europe, South America, and Asia. Ms. Sagona has worked in Milan, Italy and Brussels, Belgium.
As an author, Ms. Sagona has written articles on U.S. food and wine regulation and has presented seminars abroad on international business, creditors' rights, food and wine export, FDA compliance, and other trade issues.
Ms. Sagona earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She earned her juris doctorate at the University of Maryland School of Law.
Ms. Sagona is a volunteer at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. She enjoys long-distance running and has completed 10 marathons and 30+ half marathons.
She is committed to the promotion of initiatives whose mission is to supply clean water to children of the world.
